Jan 28-29 | EDCARC Special Event Station
Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, 310 Back St, Coloma, CA
The El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club will be setting up a special amateur radio station in Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park to celebrate and participate in 3 events at the same time. Our exact operating location in the Park is still being finalized.
- Celebrate the 174th anniversary of the discovery of gold in California. (Note that this is the weekend after the El Dorado County's Gold Discovery Day).
- Winter Field Day which is a communications exercise that is open to participants worldwide. Amateur radio operators may use frequencies on the HF, VHF, or UHF bands and are free to use any mode that can faithfully transmit the required exchange intact.
- Parks on the Air which encourages amateur radio operators to operate in a variety of parks and public lands as a portable station. Find a station near you if you are not able to travel to EDCARC's station.
All members of the public are invited to stop by. Visitors who are not licensed amateur radio operators are always welcome to learn and observe and we'll have members of CERA and EDCARC on hand to answer any questions about CERA, EDCARC, or Neighborhood Radio Watch.
The EDCARC special event station will be calling on the AG6AU repeater on HF and VHF bands during the weekend. Contacts can request a QSL card by sending a self addressed, stamped envelope to:
