June 28-29 | 2025 ARRL Field Day
The El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club plans to return to a Field Day site we enjoyed prior to the COVID outbreak and the Caldor Fire. The Mormon Emigrant Trail site, approximately 23 miles from Pollock Pines at a 6600' elevation, promises outstanding views and excellent terrain advantageous for radio transmissions. Exact coordinates to the location will be shared as we get closer to the event.
All Amateur Radio Operators and the public are welcome to join us for this annual event to observe or participate.

According to the ARRL, the National Association for Amateur Radio, the annual ARRL® Field Day is the world's largest disaster communications exercise. Each year, thousands of ham radio operators across North America mobilize with their equipment to practice essential skills.
Field Day showcases the diverse capabilities of Amateur Radio, from competitive operation to emergency response. It's a prime opportunity for hams to demonstrate their value to served agencies and the public. For many clubs, it's an annual highlight.
The skills honed during Field Day are crucial not only in emergencies, but also in supporting public events like marathons, parades, and community gatherings. In an increasingly complex world, Amateur Radio repeatedly proves its reliability in crisis situations. Ham radio operators are renowned for providing critical communications support during and after disasters.
